Astrocartography

Different countries, cities, and towns have different energies associated with them. Some areas are meant for more industrial work, certain towns have a reputation for making famous actors or sports players, and yet others are meant for religious or spiritual growth. As such, when we move to different areas of the world, it begins to activate a certain energy in our body. When we move to a place that resonates with us and our goals, you’ll naturally move up in life and get fame, money, and even our physical health will improve. If you move to an area that feels out of sync, you’ll find it difficult to move up the ladder in your career, and you may start developing certain health problems. For example, an aspiring actor moving to the Himalayan mountains, or to Tibet where the energies are mostly centered around spirituality, they will not achieve the material success that they were hoping for.

To understand the energies that are associated with each area in the world, we must first understand the planets associated with these places. The names of every country, city, and town are composed of certain vowels and consonants, each connected with a planet. The sounds associated with each planet are as follows:

  • Sun (vowels): a, aa, i, ii, u, uu, e, ai, o, au, ah, am

  • Mars (gutterals): ka, kha, ga, gha,

  • Venus (palatals): ca. cha, ja, jha,

  • Mercury (retroflexes): Ta, Tha, Da, Dha, Na (ट, ठ, ड, ढ, ण)

  • Jupiter (dentals): ta, tha, da, dha, na (त, थ, द, ध, न)

  • Saturn (labial): pa, pha, ba, bha, ma

  • Moon (semivowel): ya, ra, la, va, sa, sha, ha, xa

Using these sounds, we can understand the planets associated with each area of the world. Mumbai is composed of ma, bha, and ai sounds, which are the sounds of Saturn, Saturn, and Sun respectively. This city thus has the dominant energy of Saturn and Sun however, there is more Saturn energy than Sun energy here. Mumbai is known for people achieving high careers (Sat is career and Sun is recognition), its various movements and rebellions against the leaders such as the independent movement, and the Samyukta Maharashtra movement (Sun is government and Sat is against authority). It is also known for being the capital and one of the most well known cities in India. All of these traits reflect the Sun-Saturn combination that’s happening in the name of the city. Mumbai is named after the goddess Mumba, who is a dark goddess and incarnated to gain the ability of concentration and perseverance, all of which are traits of Saturn.

Tokyo (टोक्यो) in Japan, is composed of the sounds Ta (ट), O, ka, and ya, each corresponding to Mercury, Sun, Mars, and Moon respectively. One thing Tokyo is known for is anime, manga, and gaming, all of which are Mercury energy. They are also known for their hyper-efficient public transit and for having some of the fastest trains in the world. Mercury is public transportation, while Mars brings the speed and new developments. One of the biggest things that Tokyo is known for is their food, especially their seafood (Moon). They are also known for having very new and innovative types of food, which connects Moon, Mercury, and Mars. Most people are also very familiar with ancient warriors, ninjas, samurai, and even their weapons like the shurikens and kunai, and their many martial arts forms such as karate, judo, jujutsu, sumo, and aikido.

Now that we know how to determine the energy of a city, how can we know where is the ideal place to live? We must then look into our charts and see the placements of the planets. It is always best to relocate to cities which have the vowels of planets sitting in 1st, 5th, 9th, or 11th houses. A person who has a Saturn in the 8th house should not move to Mumbai, since this will activate 8th house energies, leading to loss of jobs or difficulties in career. However, someone with Saturn in 9th, if they move to Mumbai they will activate their bhagya and past life good fortune, and things will flow easily in life.

I was doing a consultation with someone who lived in London, and they were wondering where they should relocate. London is composed of the sounds La, da (द), and na (न), which are the sounds of Moon and Jupiter. In their chart, they have Moon in the 6th house, and they have Jupiter in the 12th house with Mercury in Libra. I asked if the moment that they moved to London if they started experiencing health issues, and they confirmed this to be true. They started experiencing depression, and they said that their independent business had many ups and downs (Moon). They did manage to connect with clients globally, and they did learn many spiritual topics while being there. They said previously they lived in Tanzania, Africa with their family. Tanzania is composed of Ta (त), za (moon), na (न = Jupiter), ii (Sun), and aa (Sun). They have Sun in the 1st house. I asked them if their health was good when they lived there, and if they got a lot more recognition and more spiritual learning while they lived there, and they confirmed this to be true. So I encouraged them to move back to Tanzania in their upcoming relocation.

If you would like to know where is the best place for you to live, you can book a “Ask one Question” reading, linked below. If you are doing this analysis for your own chart, it is EXTREMELY important to use the bhava chalit chart for the correct placements of planets. A planet may be in the 7th house in the rashi chart but might move to the 6th house in the bhava chart which gives lots of struggles and health problems (just like in the example above). You can purchase the bhava chart and PDF of your chart down below.
